SureRank, the WordPress SEO plugin from Brainstorm Force — the people behind Astra, Spectra and SureDonation — has turned one, and it's running a birthday sale on Pro plans until August 3, 2026.

The headline is "up to 45% off." The actual discounts run from 30% to 47% depending on which plan you pick, and the more interesting question is whether you need a paid plan at all. For a lot of readers, the honest answer is no — and that's a compliment to the plugin, not a criticism.

Start here: the free version is the story

SureRank's pitch against Yoast, Rank Math and AIOSEO isn't that it does more. It's that it doesn't hide the basics behind a paywall.

The free plugin covers meta titles and descriptions, XML sitemaps, schema markup, social previews, a site-wide SEO audit, WooCommerce support and migration from other plugins. That's the entire job for a normal website. If you run one site and your SEO problem is "my meta descriptions are a mess and I'm not sure my schema is right," install the free version and stop reading here — you're done, and it costs nothing.

This matters because the freemium norm in WordPress SEO is to ship a plugin that nags you toward an upgrade for things like redirects or multiple keyphrases. SureRank's free tier isn't structured that way, which makes the paid tier a genuine add-on decision rather than an unlock fee.

What Pro actually adds

Pro is aimed at people managing many sites and wanting automation, not at people fixing one blog:

  • Full site SEO audit and Search Console integration for impressions, clicks and ranking keywords
  • Redirection manager and a link manager for internal links across the site
  • Instant indexing, an advanced schema builder, plus HTML, News and Video sitemaps
  • Extended meta templates for post types, archives and taxonomies
  • Multilingual support for WPML, Polylang and TranslatePress
  • Migration from Yoast SEO, Rank Math, AIOSEO, Slim SEO and Squirrly
  • AI features — generated meta tags, internal link suggestions, image and media-library SEO, and automatic fixes

The AI part is the real differentiator, and not for the reason the marketing leads with. SureRank includes the AI usage in the price — no API key, no separate OpenAI bill. Most competing plugins that advertise AI features expect you to bring and fund your own provider key, which turns a fixed annual cost into a variable one you have to monitor. Bundling it is a meaningful convenience, especially across dozens of sites.

Treat the "AI features worth $249/yr" figure on the pricing page as vendor arithmetic rather than a market price, though. It's a framing device, not a quote you could get elsewhere.

The actual prices

Plan Sites List Sale Real discount
Pro — Annual up to 10 $149/yr $79/yr 47%
Business — Annual up to 500 $249/yr $159/yr 36%
Pro — Lifetime up to 10 $599 $319 once 47%
Business — Lifetime up to 500 $999 $699 once 30%

Both lifetime plans can be split into instalments (3 × $110 for Pro, 9 × $79 for Business). Prices are in USD.

Note what the table shows that the email doesn't: "up to 45%" undersells the Pro tiers and oversells Business Lifetime. If you were going to buy Business Lifetime because of a 45% headline, you're getting 30%.

Is lifetime worth it? Do this calculation first

Lifetime deals are where people overspend, so run the numbers before the deadline pressure does it for you.

At the sale prices, Pro Lifetime ($319) equals about four years of Pro Annual ($79). Business Lifetime ($699) is about 4.4 years of Business Annual ($159).

But that comparison is only valid if you'd renew at the sale price forever, and discounted first terms usually renew at list. If your annual plan renews at $149, Pro Lifetime pays for itself in a bit over two years instead — a completely different decision.

So the one thing to check before buying is the renewal price, not the discount percentage. Everything hinges on it. The same trap applies to every lifetime offer, which is why we keep saying it in our roundups of lifetime deals worth considering and our guide to cutting recurring software costs.

Rough rule: if you'll run these sites for more than three years, lifetime wins. If you're not sure the project survives two, take the annual.

Honest caveats

  • One listed feature isn't shipped. White-labelled SEO reports are marked In Development on the pricing page. If agency-branded reporting is the reason you're buying, wait until it exists.
  • AI meta descriptions are a starting point, not a finish line. Google frequently rewrites meta descriptions based on the query regardless of what you wrote, so bulk-generating them doesn't guarantee they appear. Generate, then spot-check the pages that actually matter — the top 20 by traffic — rather than trusting a site-wide run.
  • The site tiers are unusual. There's no single-site tier: the entry plan covers 10 sites. If you have one website, you're paying for capacity you won't use, which strengthens the case for the free version.
  • Switching SEO plugins is not free. Migration is supported from the major plugins, but redirects, schema and social tags all need verification afterwards. Budget an afternoon and re-crawl the site before you consider it done.
  • A plugin doesn't rank you. SEO plugins handle the plumbing — tags, sitemaps, structured data. They don't produce content anyone wants to read, and they don't fix a slow site. Speed and crawlability do the heavy lifting, which is why we cover things like WP Rocket's CDN and why AI crawlers skip badly built WordPress sites.

Who should buy, and who shouldn't

Worth it:

  • Agencies and freelancers running 10+ client sites — this is exactly who the tiers are drawn for, and bundled AI across a portfolio is where the value compounds.
  • Anyone already in the Brainstorm Force ecosystem — if you build on Astra and Spectra, staying inside one vendor's support and update cycle has real practical value. Our page builder comparison covers where that stack sits.
  • Multilingual site owners — proper WPML/Polylang handling with language-aware AI output is genuinely awkward to get right otherwise.

Skip it:

  • Single-site owners — the free version does what you need and the entry plan bills you for ten sites.
  • Anyone whose SEO problem is content — no plugin fixes thin pages.
  • Anyone buying for white-label reports — not shipped yet.

Bottom line

SureRank's strongest argument is the one it makes for free: a WordPress SEO plugin that doesn't paywall the basics is a good default recommendation, and the free tier is where most readers should start and probably stop.

The birthday sale is a legitimate discount on a plugin from an established vendor, and the bundled AI without a separate API bill is a real advantage if you manage sites at volume. Just go in with the actual numbers rather than the headline: Pro Annual $79, Business Annual $159, Pro Lifetime $319, Business Lifetime $699, ending August 3 — and check what the annual plans renew at before you decide lifetime is the smart buy.
